The ESTER Erasmus Plus project has been designed to meet the needs of European skills trainers and VET organisations. The ESTER project is focused on key high-risk activities. In order to enhance training delivery, the ESTER project aims to facilitate best practice & high-quality instruction standards & techniques amongst VET providers and skills trainers of courses across Europe and beyond, exchanging knowledge, training innovations and expertise in the process leading to safer trainers and trainees. Partners countries of the project are:

  • 3. Reduce workplace fatality, incident rates and associated economic and personal costs within specific sectors of agriculture and forestry

ICC/ECC-INTERNATIONAL/EUROPEAN CHAINSAW SUCCESS

At the recent ABA International-General Assembly held in Czech Republic a great deal of progress was made which includes:

  • Agreement & signing of the ABA Memorandum of Association
  • Establishment of the International Standards & Accreditation Council (ISAC)
  • Testing & updating on the International Skills Register
  • Review & amendments of the International Chainsaw Standards
  • Observation of various Forestry & Machinery skills demonstrations

In conclusion, all partners observed a live ICC/ECC International/European Chainsaw assessment of a Czech candidate Mr Adam Cach. Mr Cach successfully passed at both Level 1 & Level 2 demonstrating a very professional performance of his chainsaw skills. Over 200 successful ICC/ECC International/European chainsaw assessments have now taken place & have been recorded on the skills register. Further skills certifications are planned for development & evaluation by ISAC during 2014. Successful evaluations will be added to the qualifications database for use & recognition within partner countries.
